AIM B2B Wins Gold for Campaign of the Year

TOKYO, February 9, 2026—We at AIM B2B are delighted to announce we have been gonged with another Gold Award, as winner of thenetworkone 2026 B2B Campaign of the Year. The global awards run by marketing, communications and advertising organization thenetworkone are designed to celebrate creative excellence in the independent agency sector. The winners of the top creative and talent for 2026 were announced at thenetworkone’s Awards Ceremony in London and broadcast to more than 100 countries on 28 January.

We secured the top honor for our campaign: Recorded Future – Japan, a strategic initiative designed to accelerate growth for the global intelligence leader within the complex Japanese market.

Cracking the Code: The Japan Breakthrough

The Gold-winning campaign was recognized for its ability to overcome cultural friction and unlock the C-Suite in a notoriously insular market. Faced with low brand trust and reliance on domestic platforms, we executed a radical strategic pivot.

Our agency replaced Western-centric marketing assets—originally featuring European knights—with culturally resonant Japanese symbolism, reframing the client’s security solution as a Japanese castle of defense. Simultaneously, our team moved away from friction-heavy gated content, choosing instead to build authority through regulatory alignment and high-intent display channels.

The results were definitive. The campaign delivered month-over-month increase in qualified leads from the target account list and reduced Cost Per Acquisition (CPA), proving that a localized, agile strategy could outperform in a competitive market.

“We are incredibly proud to bring home the Gold for our work on the Recorded Future – Japan campaign. This award is a testament to our team’s ability to take complex B2B narratives and translate them into measurable growth within the Japanese market. It’s an honor to be recognized on this global stage alongside such talented independent agencies,” said AIM B2B COO Sam Bird (above, right).

The awards are designed to honor and amplify the entrepreneurial spirit of independent agencies. But this is about far more than creativity. Independent agencies are competing–and winning–on the international stage against the largest holding companies and networks in the world. What continues to set this community apart, especially in the 2026 edition of the awards, is its supportive, warm atmosphere and its deeply human approach to business. That combination is powerful and it’s exactly what these winners represent.

    Japan’s $385bn M&A Boom: B2B Marketing’s Biggest Blind Spot

Last year, Japan recorded $385.9bn in M&A activity – the highest since records began in 1998. That’s hundreds of companies facing new ownership, repositioned brands, and stakeholders whose trust is suddenly in question. The marketing industry should be in the room for every one of those deals. It isn’t. That’s the biggest missed B2B opportunity in APAC right now.

Episode 11 – Japan’s Talent “Epidemic” (and How to Fix It), with Dr. David Sweet

Japan’s talent shortage is not a pipeline problem. It is, in David Sweet’s own words, an epidemic, and most foreign companies are making it worse by using the wrong tools and hiring for the wrong things.  In Episode 11 of the Asia AIM Podcast, host Robert Heldt speaks with Dr. David Sweet, founder and CEO of FocusCore Group. With nearly three decades in Tokyo executive search, David explains why LinkedIn is a mirage, why authority matters more than salary at the C-suite level and what every expat leader should do on day one in Japan.

Agility of Independents. Strength of a Global Network.

Four years ago, six of us had sat in a room at the Hotel Indigo in Bali, talking about what this network could become. The ambition wasn’t growth for its own sake. It was the right combination of independent agencies, willing to learn from each other, challenge each other and grow together. Returning this April, that ambition felt more real. Twenty-five of us, 12 agencies across the region. Humbling, but also a sign of something bigger happening in our industry. This is the era of the independent agency.

Ready to break barriers and drive your success with us? Let’s move forward together—Always Forward.
