The SaaS Source: December 2025

This month’s roundup covers the latest innovations and developments from Japan’s SaaS industry including new AI-driven media monitoring platforms, the expansion of visual collaboration tools and fresh capital for workflow automation.

TNL Mediagene Unveils “CiteRadar” and AI Newsroom

PR Newswire reported that TNL Mediagene, a leading Asian digital media group, announced the launch of two new technology platforms: “Agentic Newsroom” and “CiteRadar.” This move signals the company’s deeper expansion into the enterprise SaaS market.

“CiteRadar” is an enterprise SaaS platform designed to monitor how Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI services perceive and describe brands. As AI becomes a primary source of information for consumers, CiteRadar helps companies track their “AI reputation” and optimize their visibility within these models. Simultaneously, the “Agentic Newsroom” utilizes AI to automate the translation, localization, and distribution of content, aiming to streamline operations for media publishers across Asia.

Conpapa Brings Visual Collaboration SaaS “reat” to Japan

PR Newswire reported (in Japanese) that Conpapa, a Korean SaaS startup, officially expanded its footprint in Japan this month with its visual feedback platform, “reat.” The service is already being adopted by Japanese content studios and creative teams to streamline their production workflows.

Designed for the video and creative industries, “reat” allows teams to leave precise, time-stamped visual feedback directly on video files and images. By centralizing communication and eliminating scattered email threads, the platform addresses the efficiency challenges often faced by Japan’s animation and digital content sectors. Conpapa aims to capture a significant share of Japan’s growing creative economy by enabling smoother remote collaboration for production teams.

Prance Raises Seed Funding for AI Workflow Automation

The SaaS News and PR Times reported (in Japanese) that Prance, a Tokyo-based startup, has secured seed funding backed by Deepcore. The funding highlights the continued investor interest in “AI-native” productivity tools within the Japanese market.

Prance is developing an AI-powered platform capable of automating complex business workflows that traditionally require human intervention. The new capital will be used to accelerate product development and expand their engineering team. By leveraging Generative AI to handle unstructured tasks, Prance aims to support Japanese enterprises in overcoming labor shortages and improving operational efficiency.

uHoo Establishes Japan Subsidiary for Air Quality Intelligence

JETRO reported that uHoo, a Singapore-based cleantech company, officially established its Japanese subsidiary in Tokyo in early December. The company provides a comprehensive “Air Quality Management (AQM) SaaS” combined with smart sensing hardware.

uHoo’s platform offers real-time monitoring and analytics of indoor environmental quality, helping businesses optimize HVAC energy usage and ensure occupant health. With Japan’s increasing focus on “Health and Productivity Management” (Kenko Keiei) and decarbonization, uHoo plans to partner with local real estate developers and facility management firms to digitize air quality data for office buildings and commercial facilities across the country.
